Training
Beam Pumping
Target Audience
Engineers, geoscientists, technicians, field supervisors and others interested in beam pump systems.

Course Objectives
After completing this course, participants will understand the basic principles and performance of beam pump systems, be able to design, optimize and troubleshoot beam pump systems and compare beam pump to other artificial lift methods.

Course Syllabus
Artificial lift principles, reservoir and production system performance relationships, surface components of beam pump systems, subsurface components of beam pump systems, pumping unit geometry, rod string design and fatigue, API RP11L design, viscosity effects on pump performance, two-phase flow effects on pump performance, beam pump system dynamics, troubleshooting beam pump installations.

Course Duration
5 Days (40 hours)

Course Format
The course consists of formal lectures followed by practical sessions where participants have a chance to work with the concepts learned in solving practical problems using MGP Technologies software and Excel spreadsheets.
