Training
Electrical Submersible Pumps
Target Audience
Engineers, geoscientists, technicians, field supervisors and others interested in ESP systems.

Course Objectives
After completing this course, participants will understand the basic principles and performance of electrical submersible pump systems; understand the functionality of each ESP system component, be able to design and troubleshoot ESP systems and compare ESP to other artificial lift methods.

Course Syllabus
Artificial lift principles, reservoir and production system performance relationships, surface components of ESP systems, subsurface components of ESP systems, theoretical inviscid performance of ESP pumps, viscosity effects on pump performance, two-phase flow effects on pump performance, pump selection, motor characteristics and selection, cable characteristics and design, variable speed drives, troubleshooting ESP installations.

Course Duration
5 Days (40 hours)

Course Format
The course consists of formal lectures followed by practical sessions where participants have a chance to work with the concepts learned in solving practical problems using MGP Technologies software and Excel spreadsheets.
