Training
Nodal Analysis and Introduction to Artificial Lift
Target Audience
Engineers, geoscientists, technicians, field supervisors and others interested in learning the basic concepts of Nodal Analysis and Artificial Lift Technology.

Course Objectives
After completing this course, participants will understand the basic principles and performance of natural flow and the various artificial lift methods; be able to evaluate and compare the applicability of different artificial lift methods in specific scenarios; be able to perform a basic design of artificial lift systems and to control production from artificially lifted wells.

Course Syllabus
Production system components, inflow performance relationship, fluid properties and black oil correlations, single-phase flow in pipes, multiphase flow in pipes, two-phase flow pressure drop correlations, outflow performance relationship, nodal analysis, natural flow equilibrium flow rate, stable flow conditions, transient two-phase flow, flow instability and corrective measures, artificial lift performance relationship, comparison and selection of artificial lift methods, beam pumping, progressing cavity pumps, electrical submersible pumps, continuous gas lift, intermittent gas lift, plunger lift and jet pump.

Course Duration
5 Days (40 hours)

Course Format
The course consists of theoretical lectures followed by practical sessions where participants have a chance to work with the concepts learned in solving practical problems using MGP Technologies software and Excel spreadsheets.
